Who I am...
Anja Charity Foundation is a Ghanaian non-profit organization established in 2010. Our main focus is to provide care and support for children, especially for those children, who nobody else would care for, children in difficult situations such as orphans, street children, abandoned and neglected children. We are trying to meet their basic needs of accommodation, food, education and health care.
Our project include:
Education
We respect and promote the right of education of all children by running a basic school for children from one year to sixteen years of age. The Education Centre comprises Kindergarten, Primary School and Junior High School. Currently a total number of 97 children is enrolled in the school. At the moment teaching is being done under shades made by palm branches. Some of the children bring along chairs and tables from their houses. We try to feed the children from food contributed by cottage volunteers (community members, read about our Cottage Volunteer Programme).
We are planning to build six classrooms for the children. We need classrooms because in the time of hard rain, classes have to quit, as our shades are not reliable. Furniture is needed because not all children can bring chairs and tables from the house.
Skills Training:
ACF trains women and youths in employable skills and income-generating activities. The fundamental mission of ACF is to explore income-generating avenues within the target communities by setting up industry in the following field for women and youth groups:
food production, snail rearing, mushroom
cultivation, woodcarving, bead making, kente weaving...
The foundation provides training for women in the above fields. ACF shall build training centres when funds are available. Some of the products such as woodcrafts are ready for sale and we welcome customers to invest in our products to alleviate poverty in Africa.

What you should consider...
hard working,friendly and easy to cope with our culture Year around we need volunteers to help us with in our projects. The help of volunteers is crucial for our success. There are lots of different work fields, in which you can take action:
?Teach in our school (English,
mathematics, science, creative arts, etc.)
?Help us care for the children in the orphanage.
?Educate rural communities about HIV/AIDS and other STDs, Malaria, and other diseases.
?Teach youth and women groups some income generating activities in the field of food production, agriculture, designing, dressmaking, shoe making, painting and decoration among others.
?Work with children under the literacy program by monitoring them during their reading lessons.
?Come and help in our children summer camp, teach and learn more from the children.
