    For example, to place vertical and horizontal guides at 50% of the page do: “Edit -> Guides around page” Draw a rectangle so that it snaps to the corners of the guides. “Object -> Transform ” Select “Scale tab”, enter 50% width and height, Apply. Move the rectangle to upper left corner of the page.
