Hi Yoerz,

I just wanted to reach out to you, as my partner and I are visiting New York later this year and your profile caught my eye (I can’t really put my finger on why, but I suppose it’s to do with your writing style – as a writer myself I’m quite sensitive to these things)!

My fiance and I are travelling to NYC in September. We arrive on the 22nd and plan to stay for a week, and to book a hotel/hostel for the last 2-3 days. It would be great, though, to stay with a local for the first few days and get some insider tips and advice.

If you are around during that week and might be able to rent your living room to us, I’d love to chat (I think the time difference is exactly one day so it’d be easy to work out a time to Skype) so you can ask all about us and perhaps tell us more about your place.

Staydu profiles seem quite thin so I’m not sure how much we have in common, but music seems to be one thing… Trent and I have both dabbled in music (guitar and bass) but have never been in a proper band like yourself. We’re both always interested to meet new people and trade stories; I think we would all get along well – I mean, we’re not going to need babysitting, as we’ll be out sightseeing a lot, but it’s always nice to have some lively conversation some evenings.

Of course, I realise September is a long time away, so if it’s far too early to even think about it from your perspective, I completely understand :)

As a bit of background, we have hosted a lot of couchsurfers here in Auckland, but have never surfed ourselves. We’ve met a lot of awesome people from around Europe and the Americas and learned a lot about their countries. Can’t wait to get out and see the world ourselves.

Cheers,
Esther
