  1. Alex has been a very nice host and so her 2 children very well educated, respectful and fun.
Always with the smile on her face and very talkative and energetic person.

Although I only stayed a week we have done plenty of things together, like going to a concert ("Flow", I recommend), swimming in 2 rivers, visiting the volcans in the area..I also met her neighbours, friends and went to a couchsurfing meeting!

The house is nice and big, the area is quiet and the best if you like nature, as Marsat is in the middle of wild nature but also within a 30 minute walk from Riom and 15 minutes away of Clermont-Ferrand (by car).

    I recommend it!

  2. My apologies for this post being so late!

My friend Liz and I enjoyed staying with Alex in the tiny, picturesque town of Marsat. Alex is talkative and friendly, and made us feel right at home. We had our own sleeping space, and mainly did housework and babysitting, not too many hours per day. We felt a little ill-prepared for staying alone with her two kids, as our french was rusty. They are both very sweet though.

I had a cold while I was there, so I must thank Alex for being understanding! Also, many thanks for taking us along to Clermont-Ferrand for drinks, and to the Beaujolais Nouveau gathering in Riom. Alex is quite the social butterfly! For solo activities, make sure you take time to walk along the paths around Marsat if you stay, they are so peaceful and pretty.
